The people need jobs.

I live in Ekurhuleni (where the Boksburg test case is set to play out) and every single morning I see men and women hanging around looking for piece work. Land will do nothing for these people. They'll just be poor landowners, scraping a survival and will probably go back to standing on the corner anyway to look for work because they cannot support their family on their parcel of land.

The useless bastards have failed the country, destroying it in the process, and are now going for low-hanging populist fruit.

Actually having land will probably make them even poorer in The long run when they can't afford to pay the taxes or maintain it.

They'll be even poorer because they will owe the municipality rates and utility levies on the land given to them.
