So the DA is the new ANC and EWN is the new News 24.

Yeah all the quotes and statements about refugees and Afrikaners could easily have been left out of that statement and the focus kept about Kenyans in a processing centre. Really sends a message about the buthurt this caused the glm.

So the DA is the new ANC and EWN is the new News 24.

We stand united against the fringe minority of right wingers, as soon as we have properly dealt with you all, we can go back to our differences.

The final two by-elections of the year and there will be no Christmas cheer for the ANC as the IFP will likely retain their ward in uMfolozi while the MK will snatch the independent-held ward in Mpumalanga, where the ANC was a strong 2nd place in the municipal elections in 2021. As a reminder, the first number which appears is the 2024 provincial share while the one in brackets is the 2021 municipal result.

ProvinceMunicipalityWard No.PartyWard Vote Share (%)

MK37.6 (--)
ANC9.5 (42.5)

Independent-- (45.3)
ANC19.7 (37.7)
There will always be excitement at the launch of a new party, especially one from a popular person, then things will normalize after the first election.

The MK is normalizing nicely into a KZN Zulu party, from 60% in 2024 to 36%.

All rational media do point out the hypocrisy of the fake refugee program not just N24 and EWN. Even Faux do by avoiding mention. Let's face it, the hardcore rightwing media are anti-immigrant and would prefer Trump closed the whole thing including for these victims of genocide and EWC.

Why didnt americans just use south african or american labour, why go through all the trouble of using a few kenyans?

While their by-election results were initially very bad post the 2024 election, they've demonstrated more resilience earlier this year when they won multiple seats. A mixed bag for MK all in all. Quite high turnout in the Mkondo by-election as well, so MK can't point to the holiday season as a reason for their loss.

They believe South Africans would not be partial and may have borne some animosity toward the "refugees". But they could have just asked AfriSol to supply the labour.

Do nothing get flack, do something get flack - what should have happened?

For its own good, the DA will have to cut ties with right wing elements, a decision they were supposed to stick with under the Maimane era, but Zille came and reversed it, same way the ANC reversed Mbeki's decision of getting rid of Zuma and his minions, now they regret not sticking with that sober decision back then.

This is another chance for the DA to do the right thing , it will be painful but they need to be brave, they will thank themselves later.

Gotta love it when you come striding in with your analysis of things and can't help but let your fear of uGogo shine through like a supernova.

The trend is that they are performing well in KZN, I doubt you would find a ward in Mpumalanga where they were able to maintain their 2024 result, not even sure if they have ever won a ward there?

Mpumalanga was their next big province after KZN, if they can't hold on there, they are normalizing nicely into a KZN party, an odd ward in NW or WC means nothing in a larger scheme of things.
