Just think ... one less getz and swift on the road! :p

I can afford one, just not the petrol damn those things are thirsty :D

But on a serious note how many people have you seen driving a 4x4 and the most off-roading they have done is up a pavement? it's excessive and just plain dangerous!

Don't remind me of the petrol
People drive big 4x4's so they can get out of the potholes on the road. They are also viewed to be safer in a accident and have a higher driving position.

Bwhahaha

First image is a landy with a rednose! :D
I've seen 2 on a jeeps roof used as horns :o

How is being cautious a menace? Maybe if the road wasn't full of maniacs people wouldn't be so paranoid.

In CT those over cautious drivers are the ones doing 60km/h on the highway during off peak times in the middle lane, causing the whole thing to slow down, which make those maniacs even more agitated and reckless. They are also the ones that at the slightest thing slam on the brakes coming to a dead stop, therefore the other drivers now have to try and avoid causing an accident due to their over reaction.

Over cautious drivers result in a chain reaction which ends up causing more problems than they solve. I am not saying caution is a bad thing, however there is a line between being cautious and being an over reacting paranoid person

Hubby drives a double cab, not 4x4, I can honestly say I feel much safer behind the wheel in the bakkie than in my fiesta. And not just what you mentioned but other things I have noticed:
1. Cars tend to keep a bigger following distance from the bakkie than the car and do not come sit on your ass
2. The do not swerve in front of you randomly, this applies to taxis as well
3. If you are coming up behind them in the fast line and they are moving slower than you, as soon as it is safe to move left they do it and do not just keep plodding along at 100km/h when you can easily do 120
4. They do not try and force you off the road or try and force you do anything actually.

BUT driving the bakkie takes a lot more skill than the average driver seem to have on CT roads. The size means you have to check blind spots very carefully, reversing make sure that something small that you cannot see in the mirror is not hiding behind you somewhere (a reverse camera really helps with this). Manoeuvrings and especially parking like a decent human takes more effort. Then there is the added things like the big torque and the fact that it is a rear wheel drive and the adjustment you have to make to your driving habits due to this. So I agree not everyone is capable of driving them.
