The Department of Home Affairs’ Smart ID card project has won the ICT Service Delivery and Transformation Award.

I dont get it, most countries do have the system now, including Zim and its even instant, 20 mins the ID is out?

The award‚ the department said in a statement on Monday‚ “seeks to recognise and reward the most outstanding service delivery‚ or a product or service‚ and/or transformation at a national government level”.

These smart cards are not even available yet, how can they receive a (meaningless) award for that?
