SA students pour R6.1 billion into tech

South African students are spending more than average citizens, forking out an average of R3,768 per month - with a combined annual spend of R6.1 billion going towards tech and gadgets.

Where the hell do they get R3800pm for tech from? //EDIT: I see I miss read - disregard..

I would have though it would be the post graduates, aged 24 - 30 who would be the biggest spenders on tech.

I was thinking about the amount of cash I spend on tech the other day and it is frightening... need to cut back.. Constantly upgrading PC, laptop, phones, tablets, SLRs, ,GoPros, Playstations, Audio et cetera. The list goes on

Clothing and shoes claim R5.5 billion of the share, while alcohol gets R3.3 billion and toiletries and cosmetics take R2.1 billion.

Well at least the students are living a balanced life.......
