SA website stats: new traffic measuring system, same top performers

I really don't think MSN is fair to consider.. since it's the default page with that crappy browser

I agree.

It does show the power these default settings that browsers come out with have though!

how does MyBB get a higher ranking in total traffic and in local its lower? I mean its awesome, I would just expect it to be the opposite way around.

Nice one MyBroadband RIGHT UP THERE... who else thinks Private Property is a really good site. unlike that Justletting.co.za one what a load of hoola that one is.

Keep in mind, these are only sites that are part of the DMMA tracking.
I'm sure google, gumtree, etc (a heap of others) would be good contenders in the international/local list if they were part of this survey...

I would like to see all SA website results not just the DMMA

I believe this means that we have a fair amount of international people coming to check out the site.

Does the DMMA understand how to compare?

I am sorry but those "comparison" tables are useless.

You cannot compare MARCH 2011 to APRIL 2011 to prove whether system A is better/worse than system B.

If you want to compare two systems then you need a common measurement and in this case it would be the dates.

The DMMA should provide stats for System A and System B for period X and then make statements.

Having worked with analytics for the last two years I am probably arrogant to consider this logical. One would expect the DMMA who works with it on a daily basis to also see the logic.

Those comparison table means absolutely nothing.

Not a true reflection of website traffic in SA. Especially MSN is way off, as they use a number of white-labels and force the white-labels to implement effectivemeasures tracking.

Although based on Alexa, perhaps a better reflection of .co.za sites: http://domenydomeny.pl/alexa.php?za

I couldn't agree more - the article reminds me of the bulk of reporting on News24: A story is copied and pasted, then the language isa "Africanised", some spelling mistakes are introduced and to top it off (literally) a misleading headline is added.
