Sigh..... thats about all I can still do.... For more than 3 months now I have constantly been complaining to my ISP... SA Wireless,,, about the very very poor linespeeds I am getting, and constantly being told that ok they'll reboot the base station... or wait I'll change the frequency.. or the latest info, MWEB has a problem with INTERNATIONAL traffic (thats been for the past month and a half) to the current response of MWEB has a BIG problem, they have stuffed up our account.

Know what? I use MWEB as a backup.... through a Afrihost mifi.... seems to work just FINE...

I got up again this morning, NO internet. lol It is like being on a farm where the post MAY arrive this week, just sit back and be patient. I have skype convo's going back 3 months of only 1 subject..... my internet being down or extremely extremely slow.

How does dl speeds of 0.03 kbs sound? COME ON MWEB PLEASE FIX SA WIRELESS ACCOUNT !!!!!!!!

Maybe someone from MWEB can tell us why ONLY SA Wireless has been affected this way as far as my knowledge goes ?

Joe from SAW told me more than a week ago that they are switching to a new provider..... but that this will take almost 2 WEEKS?????? in this day and age??? phew.

I need my internet.... this is costing money, contrary to popular belief I am actually expected to PAY for this service every month, which I have unfailingly done, guh not EVER not even ONCE have SAW offered ANY kind of rebate because the service simply isnt THERE.

so... sigh..... maybe I'll get internet again today .....

Wierd as Amobia uses MWeb and our international is fine. Sounds like they're a crap WISP not knowing whats going on in their own network....

Seems its not just you complaining...

http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=466103

I'm not sure about SA Wireless, but Amobia peers directly with Mweb and have direct access to their "allowed" data centre, other WISPs also, but Mweb state Amobia very clearly in their policies as their wireless provider. This is actually only possible, should the WISP be based in the Western Cape, since TheGene have Mpumalanga listed as his location, his connection is probably coming over ADSL/VDSL. Then again SA Wireless cannot blame Mweb, as they are the actual provider, Mweb cannot accept the responsibility.

Nothing wrong with Mweb's bandwidth, I'm peering with them directly at Teraco in Isando.

Do a traceroute then we can see where the issue is.

Fulcrum, the link I am using is actually in Brakpan mate. I have since received SOME feedback from them as regards the situation, they say that the situation SHOULD be resolved by Tuesday next week. SO.... I'll just have to wait and see wont I?

The link is Supposed to be point-to-point wireless...

well.... what can I say ....this is a 2 Mb/s uncapped account.

Feedback atm is that I have been PROMISED full speed as of tuesday and also no account at all for next month... doesnt really make up for all the time wasted, cost of calls etc, but at least SOME effort seems to be happening from their side. I must be mental but am still willing to give these guys one .... one only more chance.

Nope, looks fast and good from here. My first guess would be that the problem is on hop 4. If you have a linux machine somewhere, try running an mtr to that IP.

If they are using Ubiquiti equipment, you can't trust any ping, it gets high priority when running in airmax mode. I have seen pings of 2ms constantly on a link that gets no more than 14kbps throughput. Wonderful showing customers that latency, but its like taking out the oil light in your car... It doesn't reflect real world network health.

This is purely via Mweb, my outgoing IP is Mweb's IP directly. This way BGP won't even give me another return path, as when using my own IPs.
