SA Wireless

I was hoping to get some assistance from SA Wireless, tried to mail them last night, yes a Sunday I know, but was hoping to get feedback this morning, nothing received by 11:30, so called them, spoke to Joe who asked me to mail for his attention, did so then found his mail addy on this thread and forwarded mail to that addy too, still no joy. Is this the kind of support that customers can expect? How do their existing clients find their support experience.

Hey guys

Just a quick update. Everything has been working smooth but tonight something went wrong. I am not sure if it is on my side or on the ISP's side but I am posting my speed test results here:

Im going to contact Joe tomorrow and see if he can help me sort this problem out and I will update soon.

The problem seems to have resolved itself over the weekend. Network is running smoothly again for now.

sa wireless internet and service sucks

Is anyone here using SA Wireless as their WISP.

I know about the previous threads, but wanted to find out how things are at present.

Regards

We had to do installation and faultfinding self. had 3 weeks of internet in 4 months. Joe does not pickup phones and full of excuses when he needs to do something. we heard the bracket story from lots of clients read his bad hello peter reports

Howsit guys, I used to be on SA wireless up until I couldn't take the excuses for poor performance. I was on the 8/16 midnight madness paying about R1200 per month, performance was as follows during my time with them

Edit:
Sorry that first one came out looking horrible

I have since moved to LTE which does have its own set of issues. I am paying 599 for the following speeds

I, surprisingly, will play the other side of the fence here. So I liked the package offerings from SAWireless, and due to various reasons I chose to go this route. The plan was purely to stream, so I settled on the 6 Meg account, some may say I could use the 4 meg madness one allowing me doubled speeds from 6pm to 6 am and frankly I might still switch to that option. I will join in on the chorus of Joe being a difficult man to get hold of, and although the whole process took me almost a month ( the bracket had to be made, then Joe was not happy with the speeds he was achieving and had to erect a point to point connection for me) I finally got connection on Friday evening. I was able to then get Netflix and Hulu loaded on my Apple TV and this is all working like a bomb.

To be honest, I think that the biggest issue with SA Wireless is the workload of Joe, and perhaps a few more accounts and he could hire some more staff to assist him, you often have to try a few times to get hold of him as he is most likely doing the work himself, but overall the product offered is exactly what I am after.

Hi Managa

yes there was a problem and i admit it, we did try and fix it, but as i said to you there was to much interference in the area,
we did change the frequency to sort out the problem, but this only worked for a couple of days, and the problem started again.

i now it sounds like it is an excuse, but all Wisp have the same problem, we did change the equipment to another type, and asked you if we could change the unit at your premises. i think this would have been the solution, that would have made you happy, but you did not give us a change to rectify the problem.

Hi there, would like to find out if anybody else is using Sa Wireless as there ISP? Where can i report them for bad service and internet speeds? So tired of the owners excuses and stories, unprofessional is a good word to describe his attitude.

Many Thanks

BTW Managa, what are you using to do these random speed tests? I'd like to do something like that too.

I use the speedtest.net app on mobile phone. App has an extract to csv file option

I find it very unusual, the complaints on here. I have found, although he CAN be difficult to contact, Joe is usually more than willing to sort out issues. There was downtime over the weekend, not their fault, but further up the food chain, this issue was resolved. I then advised that my speeds were a little erratic and thereafter it's been stable around the max that I am signed up for. You need to keep in mind that this is not a huge company with 24/7 support and a multitude of technicians. That comes at a premium and you need to keep that in mind when you sign up. They are more affordable than the bigger companies, but this is the price you pay for his lower overhead costs.

I have however only been a customer for a about 2 weeks and with a little patience and understanding, feel that the solutions they offer are some of the best value for money.

No I am not employed by them and no I am not paid to promote them, but I do often try support the "little guy" in the industry, as long as the service he provides is decent, I will continue to try keep it that way.

Wifi is up and running, getting the full 4mb speeds with great latency, very impressed with the service

So, I e-mail Joe on 10th November 2016, and called him again today.
Have received no response from their team with regards to a new installation.
Maybe I should try some other company for service in the Centurion area.
Not the greatest service at all.

Mine was installed yesterday, fairly quick service from Joe & Team (if there is one). But speeds have been horrid. I only received 10mbps between 1am and 3am this morning. (Thank you for the graph Joe)

I did phone Joe and he said he will send a technician to check the equipment on my side, so no success story here yet.

@Darynv Please tell me about these "Premium" companies? I had Skyfi @ R1250/month for their 20mbps link and now pay R1k/month for 10mbps/10mbps @ sawireless. I feel this is a "Premium" amount, if you take into account the Installation Costs. If you are in a coverage area, you can get 100mbps Fibre + 1TB data for R1400, free installation, which IMO is a "Premium" service at a reasonable price.

I don't mind paying, but I sure do want to receive the service I pay for. My next option is Vodacom's BBCW Premium @ R2100 for 10mbps/10mbps uncapped with FUP @ +-400GB. I used this in Steelpoort and this was a rock solid connection, no matter the weather.

BTW Managa, what are you using to do these random speed tests? I'd like to do something like that too.
