You have to risk it to win. They bat to nr9 but ended up only 4 out. They didn't get a high enough score and failed to utilise their resources. Their 2 most conservative batsmen rassie and reeza took 91 of the 120 available deliveries hence the failure to score enough.

Rassie ended with a SR of 142, which is a run rate of 8.52. If everyone scored at that rate they would have ended on 170. The oke ended on 91 off 64 - in what world is that a bad T20 score, especially for an opener who should be anchoring the innings?
He could have gone for it earlier and he could have gotten out, which could have sparked a collapse. Lots of ifs and buts could have happened, we don't know. What we do know is while he started slow, he at least kicked on and upped his rate to something acceptable.
If you want to assign blame, you can look at Reeza, Azmatullah and Linde who were all striking at just over 100, and failed to up their rates...
142 is merely adequate in modern T20 cricket. The successful sides don't use anchor's anymore.
I did blame reeza along with rassie, the partnership of 59 from 50 was a big issue. Linde and omorzai only had 10 & 11 balls they never got properly in, if they had that same strike rate after 20 balls then they would share the blame.

Also, MICT dont have a clue what they are doing with their batting lineup.

We're not looking at the modern game. We're looking at specific conditions within a specific match, and 170 could have been a winning score on that pitch.
Reeza didn't get going after wasting that many balls. Linde and Azmatullah also got out, that's their own doing. That 20 balls wasted between them is 3 overs. There's no defending them under any circumstances, fact is they got out. Rassie did his part, the others didn't. You're usually more rational than this...

A lot of emphasis gets placed on fitness nowadays so a slightly portly batsman kind of stands out.

More Hayden then biff for me. Scores in similar areas and employs the sweep a lot vs the spinners.
