Unfortunately the politicians in charge will do their best to deflect blame to the white man, making us the scapegoat for all of their problems, mistakes and so on... and they will succeed mostly.

You are right it was the white persons fault they started the national airline. Just like it was the white mans fault they built the big dams so it cant get filled quickly enough.

But yeas we will hear sometime when they close down they inherited a corrupt and bankrupt airline from the apartheid regime.
 
Is the business rescue deal still going on or did they abandon the rescue avenue completely.

...wonder if the business rescuers have been paid. I mean hell, they've been doing this for a year now and I highly doubt they'll go without their pound of flesh.
 
...and here you have Air Namibia being put into liquidation (SAA should follow their example! But, logik...) and paying their staff for a year. And I mean PAYING...not lip service, PAYING their staff for a year.

Now that you'd mentioned that, I think what we have here possibly, is a classic case of Robbing Peter to pay Paul...

Staff not getting paid due to the business rescue getting paid first.

I think staff aren't getting paid because the airline is now grounded. The BRP are waiting on their R10bn to pay off creditors, settle employee packages, and supposedly pave the way for "New" SAA, same as the old.

I wouldn't be surprised really...take their pound of flesh and leave what's left for the dogs.

Air Namibia has been grounded since last year and staff were getting paid. That argument doesn't work.

Argument works.
Maybe Air Nam has deep reserves or their government is happy to use public funds to keep paying salaries.

In the case of SAA the company has no reserves, they are in deficit. The government can't afford to stump up the money anymore as they have to come up with money to fund severance packages and pay off debt.

Seems just fine then! I guess the argument does work when you throw your employees to the wolves.
