SABC’s frequency is jammed

If (when) the Films and Publications Act Bill goes thru, then the ANCBC will reign supreme, and the ANC propaganda machine will have a clear road ahead.

All they will need to do is ask China how to censor the internet, make a deal with Google to suppress sensitive information, ask Bob to help with the pesky overseas jounalists, and it's ..... 'all aboard the coruption express'

Oh yes, and ask Wikipedia to add a definition for 'democracy'...
. form of goverment where, the people bend over, grasp the ankles firmly (if they weren't already born like that) and get f...ked in the ass, and then tell the rest of the world that it is their constitutional right !

Sorry Helen.

Promising to investigate this mess, and to roll the head of anyone responsible, was a good step. But the SABC's reaction since last week has been very disappointing.

I was actually wondering on my way in to work this morning what our options for joining the conversation are. I am a license fee-paying viewer, and as such I have an interest in how the news is presented to me and, I guess, an interest in how my license fee monies are spent - frivolous lawsuits designed to close down the freedom of the press are not acceptable.

Pity as a license fee-paying viewer, you don't have the right to not pay. By paying you are basically accepting anything the SABC does. If our wallets could vote, the SABC wouldn't have any subscribers. Oh sorry, I forgot that the goverment (tax-payers) pay for their existence anyway, regardless of whether they make a profit. Anybody seen an external audit lately, preferably by one of the big four ? The internal audits they conduct is an exercise in self adulation, congratulation, employment (themselves, family and friends, friends of friends....), and, yes.. we know the figures are bulls..t, but we do it because we can. It is like getting the fox to count the hens.

Which raises the interesting point - if you're paying indirectly then does it means that you are entitled to watch telly anyway?

I mean, your money is being used by the SABC, so you have a right to see what they're doing with your money? :D

i wish they would bring out a decoder/smartcard for subscribers. that way those of us who don't watch/listen to their propaganda wont have to pay.

i have a lot of money for a bookie taking odds on how many subscribers they will have
