SABC close to collapse

That's alarming to say the least. I support SABC 100% with there initiatives, second too multichoice and company.

good riddance to the SABC. They offer nothing of value and expects you to pay a TV license even if you don't watch their content. FAIL!.

Nevermind everything else how is this going to effect the roll out of Digital TV which seems to have fallen way behind schedule now.

SABC has nothing to do with it, it's our dear friends Sentech that runs and operates the television (and radio) broadcast signals and towers ;)

I'm so tired of the SABC's foul tactics to get money off the public.

I've had 3 final notices from lawyers posted to my address, all addressed to different people....go figure.

Oh boohoo.. shame... they should just disappear, I never watch SABC anyway since the programming is BEYOND pathetic.

What about the radio stations? Can you tell me that you have NEVER listened to 5FM or Radio 2000? ;)

My mom works in internal audit and my aunt is head of insurance at SABC. I know just about everything that is happening there :)

Who cares about in the past...

I do not listen to the radio anymore, or what SABC channels...

They're ALL complete rubbish now.

Aria Derchi

Adios Sabc (Home of Repeats upon repeats of repeats). If it collapses they start from fresh with new ideas shows that cater for everyone. Documentary Must def go it aient SA NAt Geo

i would be such a laugh if they revamped and played all the old shows from the first few years of television and those shows become more popular than todays junk.

I guarantee that the people still getting paid are the lawyers they pay to trace people and threaten with legal action for failure to annually renew their TV license!!

But I think it would be a good idea if EVERYBODY boycotted and refused to pay for their tv license. This can be done on the premise that we refuse to pay until we are guaranteed that the money won't be blown on top heavy remuneration structures and needless squandering. If we KICK the SABC now that its "down" hopefully it'll F__K off to some corner and die!!!

will the same work for Eishkom?

Die piggy die. Isn't it funny how anything that the government has a finger in, falls apart.
The government can't keep the electricity running, they can't give us descent broadband (sorry for chucking salt on this already raw wound), and now they can't even keep the frikken TV turned on. WTF Mr President? But let me get off this topic before I start a political riot on this forum.

Maybe SABC's demise is a blessing in disguise. Time for a privatised broadcaster to compete with DSTV.

Surely this will have ramifications on broadcasting as a whole and will filter through to other areas?

We might not like SABC but there are thousands and thousands of people who only have SABC. Despite the jubiliation this is not good for SA.
