Sabc commentators

I never said that they are the best there is....I said that they are doing a good job...the problem is that you are comparing a lot. Do not compare someone who commentate in Zulu with someone who us commentating in English, it is totally two different languages...and yes I do agree with you that Zama and Geeson used to be good...guess what they are no longer here...move on as much as they did. Give other poeple a chance, I'm sure that when they started they where not that good but along the way they became good. And dear I do listen to proper commentary thats the reason why I had picked up that the guy who is commentating in Zulu will tell you a lot of facts abot the players which on my side I think its good for him to share an info about the players.

We get to know thing that we did not know...

Please stick to your dstv, hence that I can see that the only reason you watch soccer it is because of the commentators not because you love soccer...

I pay my tv license and for that reason I refuse to accept the mediocrisation of the sabc... no one said the zulu commentary was bad. In fact the zulu commentary is the only thing left of the sabc. That Gloria:sick: needs to go to English school and what's with Cebo (a good Sotho commentator) doing English commentary. He can't speak the language... The man works for a Sotho radio station and has no need to be good at English, yet there he is doing English!

And oh, I do stick to supersport, but a lot of people depend on the SaANC and I see no reason they should be subject to incompetent sub-standard programming.

Well I also pay my tv license, I'm glad that you agree with me about the Zulu commentator....just so you know I do not like listening to Gloria either...and as for Cebo give him a chance maybe he might improve hopefully sooner before the world cup. We do need commentators who will commentate in proper english...

And oh, by the way you complain it does not seem like you stick to your superspot, otherwise you wouldn't care that much about this.

That Gloria is a classic case of women empowerment gone bad. She should be banned form any soccer related activities because she just doesn't have a clue!
As for Cebo doing English I think that is just dumb...but we must also bear in mind that Supersport is poaching SABC commentators and soccer presenters i.e. Zama Masondo, Robert Marawa, Thabiso Tema, Michael Abrahams, Mark Gleeson, all of them started with the SABC.
SABC will have to do with whatever they have at their disposal and that means making do with newbies.

Only Thabiso & Marawa were poached, the others were victims of the SABC's obsession with image & political correctness!

BTW...do you know what happened to John Perlman ? He was also very good and very informative.

I am guessing that for the world cup those watching on SABC will be subjected to the South African commentators.
I know when eTV had broadcasting rights, in 2002 I think, they used the international commentators.

Well that's a given. Even if SABC receives an international feed they usually overide the international commentary with the South African commentators. It's very weird watching a game and listening to commentary from someone who is watching on TV like you...:D
