SABC must broadcast violent protests: ICASA

I don't get it, why is everyone happy about this?
If you show a poor & starving populace how easy it is for a group of rioters to rob shopping malls, isn't there a possibility that it could lead to more rioting and pillaging?

You don't tell your kids how to open your gun safe, do you? That is censored for their own safety.
Same thing here. Sometimes things need to be censored from the masses in order to maintain stability.

You all seem somewhat conditioned to think that censorship = evil.
Censorship can be used for both good and bad.

Can any of you tell me what exactly you are trying to achieve by airing a how-to-pillage guide to millions of starving people on national TV?
Please enlighten me what good is going to come from that. :erm:

That's what apartheid said.

Your post just backed up exactly what I said, right there in the part you quoted.

I quoted your post

You're sticking an article of a bad censorship practice in my face and saying "See, censorship is Bad!"

Censorship is not necessarily always a bad thing. Please try to comprehend this.

I understand where you are coming from on censorship be used for good in a limited number of scenarios (which apply to SA), however in this instance, the link (not the quote) is of Hlaudi stating his view that "no negative news on JZ is allowed", aka if you only watch SABC, you'll see sunshines and rainbows as a backdrop to our fearless majestic honorable innocent leader telling you to vote ANC for Jesus, for Madiba and what good stories the ANC has to tell... How is that good censorship?
