SABC pulls second DA advert

The DA finally caught on ... This is one of the best ways to get your voice heard. Send an ad subject to cencor, it gets banned and everybody wants to watch it all of a sudden on Youtube! Just don't forget to still air another ad that is "acceptable"

Well, that's not true. The majority of people that will watch it on Youtube are in the middle classes, and are likely DA voters already

So Hlaudi has verbally confirmed that the advert will be unbanned. Lets see if this is put in writing

No it wouldn't. It happens, has happened and will continue to happen. I am also worried somewhat about the level of vote rigging we will see in this election.

At least we don't use electronic voting. With the ballot system, there is a paper trail to check later.

On topic, major fail by the SABC. Are they hoping that ICASA won't rule on this before the election?

This is really sad...20 years into freedom and they blocking adverts that do not suit the party that they rule under? Really really sad I must say.

Can the DA air their adverts on eTV and other non-SABC channels, without them getting banned?

With the amount of election observers we have, that would be very difficult to pull off

You are 100% right. I am one of those observers. Got my forms sitting on the desk next to me. This will be the second time I am observing a vote count. From what I have experienced it is really difficult to cheat at the voting station level. There will be observers watching every vote been counted. There are also many checks and balances in place to prevent vote rigging.

When the voting starts, the IEC officials I work with take their job very seriously.

The only way someone could cheat is if there is a voting station with no opposition party agents observing the process. I highly doubt that is going to happen.

However, on the topic of this censorship. Its disgusting. Shows you how scared the ANC is of the DA.

SABC - what a joke. Government has no right to be operating TV channels and people have no right to have access to TV channels. His holiness Madiba should have known this (among many other things) when he took office 20 years ago.
