Cant believe how shocking this censorship is. Any reasonable human would say there is nothing to censor in this ad.

We might actually have to fight for our democracy if the ANC keeps on this disgusting path. Sis.

you know what is REALLY hilarious? when I saw this ad a few days ago all the recommended video's where from banned ads.

edit: even if the DA stands to win the anc will hold government by force. I can guarantee it :whistle:

SABC has the biggest coverage, as well as the biggest number of stations falling under its umbrella, so if you drop them out of the equation you are losing the vast percentage of listeners.

Apparently it's this line they didn't like: "So, they tried to silence us, but this is actually what they're afraid of"

They don't say in the ad who 'they' are and I guess the SABC felt that this line was dishonest and manipulative...

Yes, that would be problematic because it was contrary to the official reason given for the original ad ban. It wasn't about "silencing" a party, but about attacking another political party.

Actually the official reason had to do with the possibility of inciting violent attacks on the police force, who are not a political party. But nice try.

The advert also doesnt identify who "they" are, so why ban it?
 
DA TO SEEK INTERDICT IF ADVERT NOT AIRED

The Democratic Alliance will seek an urgent high court interdict if the SABC does not flight its second television advert, party leader Helen Zille said on Wednesday.

The advert was supposed to be aired on Wednesday morning, but was not.

"The next slot for the advert is tonight at 9pm on SABC2. The proof that it was banned is because it did not air on the slot this morning."

She said the DA was consulting its lawyers and would file an urgent application on Thursday morning if the advert was not flighted at its allocated time on Wednesday night.

The public broadcaster had sent the party a letter on Wednesday informing it that the second advert would not be aired due to two sentences in the advert -- "they tried to stop us" and "this is what they did not want you to see or know".

The SABC argued that the statements were false.

Zille said SABC acting chief operating officer Hlaudi Motsoeneng had called her around noon to say the ad would be aired in its night-time slot.

"We have verbal confirmation, but nothing in writing... Till then we will continue with our court application and steps to seek an urgent court interdict."

It would be heard in the High Court in Pretoria.

Nevertheless the argument is the same. Perhaps the DA can tell us who "they" are. If they mean the SABC, then can they stall an ad that is attacking the broadcaster itself?

Stop spreading lies, TV licences are not credit related and haven't been on credit reports for more than a decade now, so you can't get "blacklisted" for them.
