SABC refuses to air DA's second advert

Seems like cheap politicking by the DA

However, SABC spokesman, Kaizer Kganyago, rejected the DA’s claim that the public broadcaster had banned the advert saying it was “completely not true”.

“Maybe it’s their way of electioneering and bringing attention towards themselves,” Kganyago said.

“They have bought space through a media buyer, but it is still being considered to air,” he said.


“It’s not an ‘election’ ad – it’s a commercial ad, which requires five working days to consider and put it on air. We will put it on air when that time expires. They are just trying to electioneer.”

Basically it was just Zilly who claimed it had been banned, seems it was not banned by the SABC at all!
 
Its not an "election" ad?..

Seems like BS from the SABC rather than cheep politicing by the DA...

"We have verbal confirmation, but nothing in writing... Till then we will continue with our court application and steps to seek an urgent court interdict."

It would be heard in the High Court in Pretoria.

It is plainly censorship to silence the official opposition. They (the cANCer) have learned well from Robert Mugabe.

I think this elections must be postponed as it will not be free and fair. It is also time to boycott the SABC.
 
What day exactly are they planning to air it? SABC seemed intent in delaying it as much as possible via technicalities. They know that, the less people see it, the better for the ANC.

It already missed a spot.

Think about it. The DA had to withdraw the original ad and threw this one together, expecting the SABC suddenly to show it. That's not how TV works.

They removed the offending parts, the explanation made sense. This however doesn't, the video was well received by many and I did not see a single complained that represented the complaint by SABC.
 
I saw DA's original Ayisafani on SABC 1 early this week, and a different EFF ad just now. But the thing is both were flighted at around 22h00.
