"nobody wants their shyt - that's why we don't pay"
They do not seem to get the message though

The SABC should not be funded. The ANC can use people to visit the houses of the masses and spread propaganda there. As for the rest of the country, those who actually fund the SABC, there is no need for this service. There is no content for us. We do not want to pay for something we have no use for. Close it down. Scrape all laws related to the entity.

I agree with the FMF.. just privatise the entity.

No more "License Fee" or State bailouts, the entity must live and die on the quality of their content and ability to attract advertisers.

There is absolutely no need for a public broadcaster in this day and age. It is an antiquated and outdated idea. The SABC needs to be put out of its misery and liquidated, and not a cent more of taxpayers money wasted on keeping it going.

But, it is a propaganda tool used by a Socialist government to spread lies, cause division and ensure they stay in power. It is an extremely important tool for them and I do not see them ever closing it down. It needs to be funded by their enemies and that will not change.

Just let Multichoice buy SABC FFS.

I'm tired of hearing about the SABC.

“In FY18/19 if Sars had collected the R265 TV licence fee from taxpayers, it would have raised R5.9 billion in total revenue for public service broadcasting, as compared to the total revenue of R968.1 million collected by the SABC.”

That's a lot of money that was saved from the cANCer who would have pissed it away.

BS. Who are these stakeholders that think the SABC does anything essential at all? The ANC and other gravy trainers, no doubt.

"Most stakeholders agree that the SABC plays an essential role in keeping the general public, particularly those without broadband access or the ability to afford pay-TV, informed on current events that affect their lives."

In all fairness, many people still rely on the SABC for their news and entertainment content, including the various SABC radio stations.

The problem is that they want the ones who generally don't consume the content to pay for it..

They should use encoded top boxes for digital signals and if you want to watch SABC you pay, subscription of pay as you go.

I've not watched SABC for years why should I pay. Let the guy that want to watch local soccer pay.
