SABC TV Licence price increase will backfire

OMG, ditto. I never open them, but the subject goes from something like `Discount Available...`, `Penalty Fees in 24hrs...' and `Avoid Trace Alert.....`, stuff like that.

We always try to guess what the next one will say!
 
Why do people buy a R2000-R80000 TV, knowing that they need a TV Licencee to do so, end up taking out the R265pa licence, and then refuse to pay it every year?

Then the same people get very angry when the SABC wants their annual licence fees, which the TV buyer agreed to pay. They literally signed documentation where they agreed to pay it.

The irony is that the SABC is going to get their money eventually; they'll take it from your cold, dead hands.

You signed the TV Licence agreement.

TV used to be worth watching back then in good old 1997 when I bought my first TV. We also didn't have any other options for getting something larger to watch content on without a tuner built in.

Last time I tuned into a broadcast station was at least 10 years ago, probably longer.

I do wish I could go back and stop myself from getting my own license though.

Did we all really sign an agreement for annual license fees at the shop?
I don't recall signing.
If SABC has a signed contract then SABC should have no problem getting the non-payers (85.6%) to pay.
I suspect SABC don't have any means to enforce the "agreement".
Anyway it's cheaper to pay the maximum R500 admission of guild fine.

They'll collect the outstanding licence fees from your deceased estate, if it comes to that.
 
This is the same ANC mindset that continues to gut the economy and financially ruin both the state and all of the country's inhabitants in the process.

Yea that big heavy glass front box with insane refresh rates but really **** graphics era is when I got one as well but as I do not want to pay for political propaganda or a service I no longer use I do not pay for the tv licence.
 
Do it! I won't pay my TV license unless they switch off analog.
