SABC wants to stop strike

I bet that is why they want me to pay R2500 + tv licence money that I don't owe them. Many affidavids and phone calls and proof from Teljoy that I payed my licence did not convince them to stop harrasing me by sms yet not come to any conclusion regarding what I owe them. Thery even "canceled" my recently payd renewal, and "added that money" to some other account they claim I owe them for.

Would it make a difference if they went on strike.
I dont think we would even see or feel the difference at all !!!!!!!
 
I just wish the SABC would die already. Mismanaged companies (PRIVATE COMPANIES THAT IS) should just admit defeat and ****off.

E-TV doesn't have those issues do they? And they don't benefit out of having tv licenses being paid yearly to help fund them, nor government giving them free money (OUR ****ING MONEY) to run it?

They have 3 channels unlike E-TV's 1. That means for 24 hours in a day they have around 72 hours of programming that they can sell advertising too. Let's assume an average of 18 minutes per hour.

That is is a whopping 22 (rounded off) hours of advertising they CAN sell compared to E-TV's 7 hours

Now how is it that E-TV makes enough money to keep head above water and bring us with some decent local (and sometimes international) programming?

"But SABC has Oprah and that costs quite a lot" - Yes, but have you seen? Companies actually PAY SABC and SPONSOR the Oprah show. So where does the money go to?

Either sales didn't do their job or management with their retention bonusses didn't bother to do theirs (I think it's a combination of the two)

And SABC... who has this major news network apparently... didn't EXPECT sales to be this low? Aren't they the ones who were suppose to know that there was some kind of, I don't know what, worldwide FINANCIAL crisis?

Okay... I don't know about you guys, but I won't go spend money I don't have yet on stuff I can't afford yet with sales that DIDNT HAPPEN YET then turn around to the government (**** I wish I would do that) and ask for a bailout because I didn't EXPECT to not get that money?!!!!?
