Cape Town - SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt confirms there is a possibility of him taking over the reins at Bafana Bafana following the departure of Brazilian coach Joel Santana.
Hunt told KickOff.com on Wednesday night that he will be travelling to Johannesburg this morning to meet with SAFA.
“I don’t have much to say except that I am meeting Safa at 12h30 and will hear what they have to say.”
Assistant Thomas Madigage will be in charge of Matsatsantsa’s training session on Thursday morning when Hunt hits the road to Johannesburg.

Hope this guy gets it, he's currently top of the log with SS united and doesnt take crap from anyone, if you saw the match last night you would have seen how intense ans passionate this dude is.

COME ON GAVIN!! :D

Not only that if you watched the game last night you would have seen a supersport side that was 1-0 up and a man down with 45 minutes to go and managed to score another 2 goals.

Gavin hunt i think could be a world class manager and could easily coach top sides in europe.

There is only one hope for Our world cup aspirations and that is gavin hunt taking charge.

PLEASE GAVIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TAKE THE JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!

F supersport you can win the league next year with them, Please take it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Appart from how passionate this guy is. He took SS united to where they are now. They TRASHED pirates last night. He has the balls to become the Bafana Bafana coach. He will kick out the stupid arse usless players they have in there now and open up the door for some real talent to play for SA for a change.

I hope he takes all his supersport players and pops them in the team because super sport united would thump our national team 20-0 with 9 nine :D.

He can only take the South African born players...:D

On a serious note though, Hunt is a very good coach. I would like him to have the job ahead of Perrera. The bad news though is that there are reports that Raymond Hack is already in Rio de Janero trying to get Perrera back:mad:

ever hear of clive barker? phillipe troussier? Carlos Queiroz? Stuart Baxter? Ted Dimitru?

half of the coaches of bafana since '92 have been non-black and 3 of them are white

There is only 1 reason they would put that Brizillian above Hunt. We as SA can never ever have a white successfull coach  that is just a very big NO NO!

If what you are saying is true, which I think it is. Who was the coach when we won 1996 ACON?

Cliver Barker and he's still highly regarded in the SA footy circles. dont know where you're pulling your argument from...

Pit right now SA soccer is in massive crisis, we could become the worst host nation in WC history.

White black yellow pink or blue, i don't think they give a crap anymore. They just want someone who will take us forward. They need someone who knows the good players, they need someone who is technically gifted like hunt.

I will say that without a doubt hunt will be our new coach.

Somo will be a poor choice, far to defensive minded. Look at cosmos they flippin draw just about every game they play.

I would advise Gavin to steer clear of any Bafana job. He is so good at Supersport beacuse everyone just leaves him to get on with his job. With the national team, there are too many distractions to do an effective job in trying to make these players play like a bloody team!!
