Hi All
Have any of you purchased iPhones on eBay? Is it safe & what are the import charges? Where do you pay this over to SARS?

Many Thanks

Have purchased few phones from ebay so long you buy network unlocked and not icloud locked you will be fine.

Yes you will pay money to sars around 15% of the value.

Use a good courier, most eBay stuff comes via post office which will be stolen or lost.

I've seen this today on ebay and was wondering if it's safe to purchase it on ebay. Your help will be highly appreciated.

Thank you.
How do I choose a courier on ebay? And which courier would you recommend? I'm based in Capetown. Thanks again.

You need check shipping options on check out. Otherwise msg the seller, if they use usps then comes post office. China post is also post office. Need use UPS,DHL and FedEx etc

Otherwise use forward company like aramex global shopper

If the item shows a section stating import charges calculated at checkout then the item will ship via Aramex and will include clearance and all fees. Without most sellers will ship via the post offices unless otherwise specified and duties etc will be calculated and payable on arrival. Note that there have been numerous scams regarding new in box iPhones etc from Chinese sellers so be sure to check feedback ratings and don’t but from new sellers or sellers without 100% positive with active reviews.
