Sahara ImageBook

Soz i meant home :)

Intel core duo t2250 1.73ghz
1 gig memory 667
120 gig hdd
dvd writer
15.4" screen
linux

I do not want to pay for software at all. Can I not just take the Linux that is on there and leave it at that? And what was the dealer price again? R3.5k you reckoned? What is the lappie called so that I can search for pics...?

Apologies for all the questions :)

Well only registered sahara people can buy so they will all have the pic :) and its pointless the general public seeing it as they won't get it at that price.

Well then, why post that a Piece of s@#
Sahara laptop is only R3500 when that is not the case?

So I gather dealer price ex vat and no OS is R3500...and then according to one of your posts by the time you add on vat and OS and markup the price is R5800 - for around that price I can get a Toshiba so to even consider Sahara would just be ludicrous...

That is with XP Pro.

Find me any dualcore lappie for R5100....

Toshiba with Vista is around R5900
I think only generic rubbish is sold without OS

I am NOT ever gonna pay R700 more for a M$ operating system.

I guess the Sahara deal is, as many others, good if you have a contract to buy from them at dealer prices.

Nah dude, you got it wrong, you paying R700 for the quality of Toshiba - the M$ is thrown in Free.

LOL. Fair enough.

Still, if you can get that Sahara at dealer prices it's looking pretty good :)

dude, if you really want that hunk of junk, you go to Sahara, say you a new dealer, sole proprietor, you could call yourself say “henrj low class computers and stuff” you get a cash cod account and you buy computers and parts at cost for all your buddies – you then start making a bit of moola on the side and you end up a pc dealer – that’s how 80% of the dealers start-up

I am sensing you are not a big Sahara fan :p

Me neither. But you can't argue with their prices.

Rubbish and you know it dude.

Sahara quality has become really good.

You cannot just sign up, you need to have a registered CC. If you can sign up with sahara you can sign up with anyone.

I'm holding out until a tablet PC or something like the Nokia N800 becomes cheaper, I want a lil 8-12" display I can lie around on the sofa with reading eBooks / playing old DOS adventure games.
