Hi All

Just bought a Sahara notebook with Linux O/S got rid of Linux and try to install Win XP but now I keep on getting this error::confused:
no bootable device---insert bootdisk

Your advice would be appreciated, thanks.

You need to probably try get a 'external' DVD writer and use a XP CD to install (format the HDD properly)

I had to do that but I work in a computer 'place' so we have all those tools :)

You must phone them in the morning, it happened to me and i cannot remember how to fix it but they will tell you.

Something to do with that old dos program, remember that one that you use to make partitions and what not?

Use fdisk to delete any partitions and then create new partition. You can use your Win98 drive if I remember correctly, just boot with 98 and choose option to have cd rom available from dos prompt or google for Dos 6.2 boot image. There is one available that you can write to a cd to make it boot-able as you probably don't have a stiffy drive for that netbook. Xp should see it then and you can delete the partition you created under dos and create it with XP and format from there.
