This is great - no international today, and apparently no electricity tomorrow. It's a sign that I shouldn't do any work today.
 
Ditto Forest Town. Wonder if this is to become a regular week-end occurence?

Eskom, with 'load shedding' Telkom is picking up some some of your bad habits ...

So slashdot.org is reachable, just not with a browser
 
Idle thought: can't all the forum members start a union, join Cosatu, then declare a dispute when we don't receive our 'benefits', i.e. connectivity <bg>

I can still connect to my overseas MUDs though - and to webservers via telnet. Gotta be some weird feature of our beloved proxy - sure I remember this happening a couple of days ago as well.
 
ditto on Benoni - i've also got nothing - or at least nothing www wise... my mail and everything else is fine.
Looks very much like its the transparent proxy thats kicked the bucket - reporting a "500 server error" and the proxy is the only server that is common to all international sites.

I've found a nifty work around though :D
I have a VPN to IPv6 overseas that is working fine - and i'm using a IPv6 to IPv4 proxy to view all the old IPv4 sites... like google...

The only thing that does not work is HTTP, the rest works, Skype, gaming etc is ok here .... JHB

To me http is just about everything.. i also cannot get my mail from telkomsa.net

and yes... power failure due soon, it's Saturday afternoon after all
