I have had a local only IS account with WebAfrica for some time now, but as of late it has been acting up and downloads from the news servers is now almost impossible.
This leaves me with only one option, dump IS and head on back over to SAIX...

The problem is that it has been ages since I stayed updated with everything Telkom related, so hence the few questions:

1) On a WebAfrica SAIX account (shaped 2Gb for example), do one still get that 10Gb local for every 1Gb international?
2) Same as above but only a TelkomInternet AllAccess 2GB account.

I think that is about it...
:p

Hi Myworld,

We are sad to hear you leave Web Africa as well. What is you main reason for leaving Web Africa.

Unfortunately we do not offer local with our international accounts, however I agree that IS has been acting up on news host, but this is not due to Web Africa, the reason for this is due to the amount of users on News Host, and the amount of open slots available.
When i use SAIX or IS during certain times i receive the same issues eg not connecting, or slow speeds on Cached Items. How ever i can guarantee you that, we at Web Africa offer you the best capable support, and our accounts are top quality.

Hopefully you decide to stay, it would make us really happy. :)

News Host (newshost.za.net) is only a web site and in that respect has little to do with the poor state of IS's Usenet access.

Webafrica has local saix accounts as well. I am currently using one... So, you don't have to leave webafrica.

I get the feeling he'd like to get a little international bandwidth thrown in to the mix.

Nobody likes feeding the beast (telkom) but a WA SAIX 10gb local only account is R190 while a 2gb Telkom account (with 20gb of local after the initial 2gb international) might make a bit more sense when you consider it is r40 less. :o

That is true, but can you get prepaid from telkom? The other thing as well, you have to use the international first before you can use the local, which is a bit stupid...

Or maybe I'm just a bit stupid. :-)

No - no prepaid nor can you differentiate between international and national for the first 2/3gb :o but if all you're looking for is cheap local then you are getting that . . . but with the restrictions of a contract.

Then for me it is beter to stay with webafrica, because the prepaid thing work for me.

But I hear what you say, from some, this will be the beter option.

Like SharkBait said, the issue is the amount you pay, not so much intl. bandwidth.

A local only 30Gb IS account = R130-00. No I do not need 30Gb any more since I have cut down on my downloading considerably, so lets say I need a local only 15Gb SAIX account. No do the maths...

The cheapest SAIX option then is a 2Gb all access TI account by far!
:(
