If I were the original winner I would have been pissed off.

The rules did not state that you had to work in IT.

He asked if he was allowed to take part and was told he was not.

It's simple: he asked RPM, and RPM said no. The surveys are for corporates and they ask questions that only are relevant if you're part of a certain domain of knowledge.

I do all the IT at my office, does that qualify me?

And RPM did not say no he may not enter, he said not really, implying that you may enter but it is not ideal.

Then why would he change the winner?

That is why I said that I would have been pissed off if I was the winner.

In my opinion he should not have changed it.

Said person has ONE post in the IT salary thread. That one post asks "may I enter... blah blah". There was no post from said person saying "Done".

Oh, I always assumed they look at the winning post.

Maybe you'd be pissed off, but fact is rpm changed it because he knew Rickster should not have been taken into account for the draw.

Oh, I always assumed they look at the winning post.

I've considered writing a SQL script for them which randomly selects a winner from the thread. Problem with the current method is that just generating some number gives an unfair advantage to double and triple posters in threads. With a SQL script you can dismiss those bastards outright and do a fair draw.

Well I asked if I could enter if I wasnt in IT, the answer was no. Im not going to stoop down to that level and enter even though I didn't meet the requirements.

@Winner, If you are not in the IT sector you should be very ashamed of yourself.

Edit: Who was the original winner?

You. But since you shouldn't have been taken into account, the new winner is xrapidx.
