Whats the benefit for the company? I work 28 days at sea, with world class accommodation and satelite connectivity. Then I come home to relax for another 28 days, thats why I need a 4x4, so I can go Bundu bashing.

Suppose I get a company car... My company does not have offices in South Africa, nearest is Angola(a very remote office), HR office is in Paris and Financial office is in Geneva...Don't think I'll be getting a car sooner, unless South Africa discovers oil...
 
If I'm not mistaken the resale value of a jeep is very poor, in fact all those big cars seem to depreciate quite badly ... just something to bear in mind in case you need to sell it pronto :D
 
with the current petrol prices stay away from guzzlers, they will kill you!! you will pay more in petrol than the car payments a month! the jeeps are the worst gas guzzlers you can find
 
Dude, the maintenance on those Jeeps are going to cost you an arm and a leg!!

If you flying solo, consider a motorbike ( as someone else suggested).
