Samba missions

But will you be able to get a reasonably priced NFS client for windows? Last time I tried this I fell over backwards at the price of NFS clients for windows. Or at you going to go NFS for mac and samba for windows?
 
Hey all. Gave up completely with Samba, don't think I'll ever deploy smb shares with Macs ever again. Went the route of sshfs, its fast, reliable and very secure - also a lot easier to get going. Thanks for all you help, I may need it again though - just done the one mac, still two to go!
 
Was wondering why you were using Samba to share files from 'nix machine to mac clients. Netatalk (open source implementaion of AFP) and Avahi (Bonjour) is perfect for this, and you can still have Samba runnin, serving for your windows machines if you have them. With Netatalk & Avahi your server would show up nicely in finder and behave just like a Mac server.
