I bet with a Matt filter you wouldn't need the panel itself to be that super bright.

The filter will hopefully mask the panel's grey colour, which ruins blacks when reflecting ambient light.

That said the F8500 is quite a pricey solution, may however not be necessary if the cheaper F5500 can also push similar levels of brightness. Will be waiting for first pro reviews.

Lots of user reviews of the F5500 @ http://www.avforums.com but I'll also wait for pro reviews. It's strange but I'm trying to decide between E550, F5500 and F8500.

E550 or F5500 for the bedroom or F8500 as the primary set.

Definitely looking at the F8500. Only worrying factor is the reported horrible input lag. It's a real pity that Panasonic SA won't bring in any models except for the UT series :/

Looks like you'll have to poney up for the 64", as usual doesnt seem they're bringing in the 51" F8500 (initially).

I'm not in the market for a 64" so if the F5500 doesnt produce the same dramatic increase in brightness (50%+) over the E550, not going to help in sorting out my afternoon sport watching.

Last week Cats Digital had the 51" on their website (pre-order)... and today it's not there.
