I'd like to buy a Samsung BX2450 soon. Anyone who has this screen? Any thoughts on it? It will be used for just about everything - from movies and series, gaming, sport etc (size is fine, will be used in a smallish room).

It looks like a decent screen?

Basic specs:
Brightness (Typical) 250 cd / m²
1000:1 Contrast Ratio (Static CR)
2ms Response
1920x1080

Retailers (thanks to the Favourite Online PC Shopping thread!):
Sybaritic - R2463
iKonic - R2351
Rebeltech - R2362
Take2 - R2430
Wootware - R2309
Zapsonline - R2456
Prophecy - R2592
Landmarkpc - R2462

I've also seen it on special (I think at Makro) for about R2500.

I got mine yesterday...R1999 (ex vat) from Ractron, I will play with it a bit more this weekend, but so far it's an amazing screen....very slim and great quality.

Thinking about getting the same one. Really does look nice.

Rather get yourself the Samsung 2233RZ 3D 22''/23'' LED LCD, then you can play 3D games on it and watch movies in 3D on it. Pretty much future proof.

I specifically want the 24". It is the largest screen that will still fit on my desk while still being large enough for movie viewing from my bed. :-) Otherwise the 3d would have been VERY tempting.

I'm jealous! My payday is still some time off, so I'm doing my research now, will only be able to buy in a few weeks.

It does. I love its ergonomics - the video ports are fairly easy to access. I've read reviews that says that the buttons are difficult to find at night, but I won't use the monitor buttons all that often so it shouldn't be a problem.

It's the screen that I'm looking at buying next year too. For the price I think it's a great buy.

While I think 3D is a great idea I just can't justify paying R3000+ for a 22" screen. Once the prices start getting better It'll definately be the way to go.

Whatever you decide to buy, you'll be happy with a Samsung. I've got the P2450H and extremely happy with it.

Here's a tip : One thing I've figured out is that you must wait for your pc to shut down completely, before switching off the display, otherwise it switches itself on again. Don't know why, but it happened to me.

Ditto. I have the B2430 and I love it. Only thing I don't like, and I see that the model you're looking at is the same, is that it doesn't swivel. I would have liked to swivel it towards my bed when I watch movies. Not a huge issue, but would have been nice. The Magic Angle thingy works quite well though, you will find that you hardly have to tilt for anything. Oh, and watching movies on this screen is a dream :)

Hi,
