why dont you just use the dvi cable if it's for your pc.. well, just try it. instead of the hdmi cable. might sort you out.

Hi Guys.
I have the same monitor. Have any of you ever had it where the buttons stopped working and you had to unplug the power and plug it back in to get them working again?
Also, anyone ever had the menu coming up and disappearing randomly?
And does anyone's blue led flash? Mine is flashing at about every 5 seconds, any idea what this means?

Regards

Itai

@ZimmY: This happened when I updated the ATI Catalyst drivers a few times. The drivers set the refresh to 59Hz, then the desktop does not fill the whole screen even when set to 1920x1080. Set it to 60Hz and the display will be correct. This has not happened for a few driver updates now so it might not happen again as it was probably an error in the drivers i.e. set to 59Hz when the monitor was identified.

@eitai2001: Try a different power cord. Then I found that if there was any interruption in the signal from the PC, the monitor would immediately switch to a different source to look for the signal and take a while to come back to the correct source (input). I used the 'Source' button to select 'Digital' and now it does not look for alternative input as it does if you leave it on 'Auto'.

Perhaps the power cord ... I don't have an issue with the sources ... just sometimes the buttons "get stuck" ... I can't even press the power off button. And lately the menu just pops up on its own ... sometimes on and off with high frequency.

Sounds like the monitor is faulty. I would try it on a different PC with different power cord and signal cable (DVI/HDMI or VGA) to prove it.

Thing is it's intermittent ... it will do it every now and then, and then be fine every other night ... lol, I try to video record when the crap starts so that I have evidence for 123CRT :P

this weird happened now it was working fine the all of a sudden the color started to fade did the auto again color is back but now it doesn't fit again i check the refresh rate and its fine no problems it on 60hz so any advice?

Well it looks like your monitor might also be faulty, but there are two places to check refresh. Catalyst should overrule but check Windows control panel too. In Catalyst Control Centre, Graphics, Desktop Properties, you can check that it's set to 60Hz at 1920x1080. In Windows 7, right-click on the desktop and choose 'Screen Resolution' and then click 'Advanced Settings' 'List All Modes' and select 1920x1080 True Color (32bit) 60Hz, OK and apply and see if you display jumps back to normal. When I go back to this it again has 59Hz highlighted, but the display is good and I haven't had a problem for months.

Edit: If you are using HDMI, use a cable that supports HDMI v.1.3(b) to support full HD resolution (1920x1080).

okay so last night i pulled out the hdmi cable and out the dvi and now its fine could it be the hdmi cable maybe?

I use a 3m HDMI cable from our HD media player to a 2494HS, with zero issues. It may be that the ATI card has funny issues with HDMI-out, so I'd stick to the DVI cable. For PC use, there's no difference in IQ or performance between the 2 cables, AFAIK

im not running an ati gfx card im running nvidia 9800GT which has special port for hdmi and another thing to add is when the hdmi cable is running when i watch animation movies the white is always blue and now on the dvi its fine :|
