Hi all, need a bit of assistance here. Got a Samsung D500 connecting to the internet as a modem. The PC sees the D500 as a modem as I can query the modem. If I use a MTN sim card in the phone , a internet connection is made without any problems.

If a Vodacom sim card (pre-paid-has money) is used it cannot make a connection. Get a error , PPPT link error (along those lines). The sim card can make a internet connection on the phone. So the sim is working as I see it?? But using the phone as a modem I get errors.

I have tried the modem initialization strings: at+cgdcont=1,"IP","internet" and at+cgdont=1,,"internet" and both dont work. I get hardware errors.

Are there any other modem initialization strings for Samsung, or is there something else that I am missing? Any help would be appreciated..

Hardware error. The error came up almost immediately.... Dont have the exact error as not at the client anymore..

The sim works....32K sim. I can browse the internet on the phone... just cant seem to use that phone as a modem on the vodacom network. Strange that a MTN sim card works no problem, looks like a better connection on MTN.

But Vodacom it does not want to make a connection,
