I bought a SAMSUNG 32" Series 6 (100 MHZ) a couple of months ago. I have been observing an irritating screen flickering, however, not continuously. Some days are worse than others. I regularly watch the Travel Channel, and when it occurs during a specific program, it would stop when the screen shot changes. Then it would flicker again during another screen shot etc. It occurs on other channels as well. I have not observed it during the watching of DVDs or during XBOX games. Is it the quality of the signal/recording? Can anything be done about it? Has somebody else experienced it? Any perspectives will be appreciated!

100 MHz... You wish... :p

Ok, now that the nitpicking is over, lol...

It almost seems like there's a sync issue between the 100 Hz and whatever your source is outputting. This means that the flickering is always there, just not easily noticeable in certain scenes. Try turning off your Motionflow setting, if possible, and see what the result is.

Does it seem like it happens mostly in a particular "kind" of scene?

If you have some kind of recorded material, have a look if it happens consistently... i.e. if you watch a scene where it happens, followed by a scene where it doesn't, followed by a scene where it does, try and re-watch the same sequence to see if it's consistent; this would further point toward some kind of synchronisation issue, where the Motionflow is "getting confused, thereby "duplicating" frames incorrectly. Again, try this both with Motionflow on and off.

Sn3rd, your "nitpicking" brought a smile to my face - kindly elaborate more?!

I will experiment with the motionflow idea and also observe the "panning" perspective. Thanks for the considerations!

100 MHz is far higher than the 100 Hz that the TV actually does :p 100 MHz would be awesome :D

Sorry - got a bit carried away with the Megas!!!

The SAMSUNG does not have a motionflow setting (unless I missed it). However, it has a 100Hz Motion Plus setting with judder and blur options. The standard option is 5. I am going to do the following:

1. When next experiencing the flickering during a specific program, change the settings.
2. Record such a program on my LG DVD player and play it then back as suggested.

Note the following:

It appears more to be with still shots, ie not panning.
The shots I observed today was where there was a significant amount of white background - will have to observe more to see whether that is always the case.
The flickering happens via HDMI or RCA.
