Samsung Galaxy 10.1 tablet local availability

Does anyone have any details on the local availability of the Samsung Galaxy 10.1? That is the 3G version of the new 10.1 and NOT the 10.1v.

There was an article that the tablet would come soon, probably beginning of August. A vodacom store in Sandton City has a demo model but they couldnt tell the release date and price.

I know one can import the tablet but the imports are all Wifi only models.

Hardly worth checking out. The have slotted it into the keyboard dock and fixed it there. So you can't even take it into your hands. Didn't see it in any other store yet either... I did check in the menu though to make sure it was the 3G version. Turned out to be a black 32gb 3g version :-)

crap...dont know why they have fixed demo models...whats the point of that?

It is stupid. You can still play with it and see how good the display is. You just can't feel the weight and thickness.

It was said that VodaCom would launch this tablet on contract today...any idea on pricing or maybe a link?
Could not find anything on the Voda site nor on Mr Ockie's spreadsheet.
 
samsung sa tweeted that samsung vodaworld store has stock
anyone know if any store in the sandton area has stock of the the 3g variant in 32gb or 64gb
 
I think I'll wait a month or two to see if better deals come out...and if the Transformer is released with 3G.
 
Got my contract with MTN today, 32gig 3g Samsung galaxy tab 10.1 P7500 with samsung book case and 2gig data pm at R399, deal lasts until 17th Aug, Vodacom Deals
Start at around R699 with I think 500 meg pm, big fail.
Mtn will have them in stores by next week or so depending on your area.

They have the P1000 with 75mb so I wonder if its possible to take the P7500 with 75mb to reduce the price as I mainly use ADSL and wont need the 3G data.
 
To be honest, it actually makes more sense to buy the Tab on an MTN contract with 2GB/month than it does to buy it outright and pay for your data.

I emailed MTN and they said stores will probably get stock in about 2 weeks... Hate this waiting around.
