Samsung Galaxy A5

Sooo since the last time I posted here... there has been no further wear on the accents of the device.

Also Samsung started rolling out lollipop to the A5 and I admit, I became excited.

Well they rolled it out to the A500FU which is the LTE model vodacom sells. Found that a bit boring.

The russians finally recieved the 5.0.2 update for the A500F on Saturday and I downloaded and flashed IMMEDIATELY.

So far it looks pretty good. Smoother. Better UI. Battery lasts longer and I have had better data coverage since the update.

Thing that impresses me the most. Temperature. Coming from the Note 2... it used to warm slightly around the processor. The S4... you can almost slowcook an egg on there.

I have never felt any slight radiation from my A5. Both the Note2 and S4 were hot from the first day I owned them.

That is because the S4 has a more powerful processor than the A5.The A5 uses a snapdragon 410 which is very basic and I highly doubt will ever overheat. The snapdragon 410 is used in many phones ranging from a budget galaxy core & moto e worth 1800 to a Huawei G7 worth 3500.

Its quite pathetic then that the S4 overheats from browsing newsfeeds and running background processes.

You would think a processor used in theae cheap devices wpuld run much hotter keeping up with basic functions if the S4 had to run that hard for basic use.

On top of that the A5 is smoother than the S4.

Higher clock speeds /number of cores on any SoC will consume more power and and run hotter.

So the slower A5 will never heat up as much as the more powerful S4.

Also the S4 is 3 years old now, newer tech is usually better.
E.g. The A5 will beat this ancient desktop from 1998 next to me that I am about to throw away. (Cleaning house in Vienna)
