Samsung Galaxy A5

That's disappointing :( EDIT: The Note 4 isn't on that list and it's got ADH so maybe there is some (a very little bit) hope

It's truly amazing! I've had an S4, a Note 3 and currently have an S3 as my second phone... This surpasses everything by a long shot! Compared to the iPhone 5S and the Nokia 930 I had, its on par if not better :)

I agree, its overpriced! Traded my Nokia 930 for it :)

Excellent, what possessed you to go for a 930 in the 1st place :p jk

I hear the build quality is top notch on the A5, the Galaxy Alpha truly ushered in solid build quality for Samsung, its amazing how almost overnight all that talk of 'Cheap Samsung build' has almost vanished thanks to the Alpha, Note 4 and A series.

How does the A5 compare with the S4. Does it lag more or less? How does the screens compare?

Screen is about the same... Can't tell its a lower res. In terms of lag, the S4 is more bloated and lags more. The lower resolution probably also adds to the lack of lagging

Hahaha :D that 930 is excellent ;)

Samsung is definitely going in the right direction :)

Only thing I don't like is the camera was a bit of a disappointment in the dark compared to the 930

Lollipop update?

Mmmm....I suppose it could have been nice with Windows Phone 10 on it?

*Must admit my S5 is fabulous with Lollipop on it.

Hi

How did you get Lollipop? I still haven't received it on my phone. I do regular checks via 'About Device-Software Update" and nothing.

It's all in the "Samsung Galaxy S5" thread.

Basically you download the official Samsung firmware from a web site and install it manually.

So was the Alpha... And so is the iPhone..... Build quality is worth paying a little extra for IMO.

In terms of what I'm liking and disliking so far, the battery life is excellent. At 25% with 2.5 hours screen on time and 12 hours on battery :)

Camera is not good... Quite a disappointment :(

Wait,
2.5hrs screen on time, 12 hours on battery and you're on 25% battery? That's not excellent yo :/

Better than what I was getting with most of my phones I've had... Barring the Note 2 and 3

Alrighty, fair enough.

I dont know what battery life is like on anything else.

Since my Z3C battery is almost a non-issue. atm 2hrs screen on time, 10hrs battery and on 72%. Think i'm a bit snobbish now :(

Sony is unbeatable when it comes to battery life :D no question about that

The G2 I had was good too :) Seems like they've improved even more.

Should mention that my A5 is connected to two Bluetooth devices (music receiver and smartband) playing music and running on Wi-Fi

My Wife wants the A5 her contract is up for renewal, cost wise i end up actually saving.
I'm just concerned she currently has my Old S4 (non LTE version) - more concerned with speed and battery life not really the actual screen resolution or processor.
Her reason for wanting it - is its not bigger then the S4 and lighter and thinner :D
