The S4 is faster than the Note 2 so only really an upgrade in terms of screen size.
Having had my S4 since July or so I can honestly say I prefer the Note 2
It also has an s-pen if you use it.The S4 is faster (not by too much) and the Note 2 has better build quality
But will it still be a good buy in it's old age, with Lollipop only accessible via rooting....
Feel so too. Already rootedI'd stick to the S4 and root that
Nice to seem some activity in this thread again! Who's still rocking a Note 2? Mine's a little over 3 years old, rooted, running CyanogenMod 12.1 and still giving me very decent battery life. Hands down the most reliable phone I've ever owned.
Same here. Still on CM 11 though...wish one could upgrade to 12 through the nightly interface.
Agreed, that would be convenient. Pretty much everything on my phone backs up to somewhere so flashing a new ROM is far less painful these days. If you do want to make the jump, CM13 (Marshmallow) for the Note 2 seems to be getting more stable by the day. Go check it out at the XDA forums: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-2/orig-development/rom-cyanogenmod-13-0-n7100-t3267758
Good crap, that's impressive • cm13 already.
Thanks, will definitely be checking that out..
Personally, I wouldn't make the switch to CM13 just yet. There's still a small Wifi issue that seems to have an effect on the battery. From reports I've read on the forum everything else seems to be going well.
Don't feel bad I'm still running stockstill rocking my note 2 as well, cracked screen and everything.
i def need to upgrade my CM as i am still running 10.
Same here and it's running fine. Does everything I need. Still get over a day battery lifeDon't feel bad I'm still running stock![]()
