Samsung Galaxy Note 2

hey guys, how much better is the note 2 compared to the s3? does it justify me spending R100 extra p/m to take the note 2?

I had 2 S3's and now Note 2. N2 is quite a bit better compared.

If I was in the market for a new phone now, I would wait for the S4.

And the screen is also bigger than a S3 so it will be best of both worlds I reckon....

Hi All

I've never had this problem before, so I'm not sure how to deal with it.

Google+ is draining my battery  but I like to use Google+. I've tried uninstalling Google+ with T Backup, but that caused system instability (phone slowing every few seconds with an error message about a service that can't start), so I had to restore the app.

I am running Omega V12 ROM.

Does anybody have any ideas?

The pic is after a full charge, after the phone has only been disconnected from the charger for 40 minutes. Phone was down to 98% with no use at all (save to dismiss the alarm that woke me); also no wifi or data was on.

my contract ended last week and i need to take out a new 1 as i'm tired of payin around R3 a min for peak calls so will be porting to cell c in this month. thinking of either taking the note 2, or taking a 1month contract and let it carry on until the s4 comes out then taking that on a 24month contract. wise choice or not?

I will be flashing V14, hopefully that sorts out my problem, since it should be reflashing an updated version of Google+.

I need help, my battery goes flat in just six hours, when I sleep I put my phone on flight mode but my battery will be on 70% in the morning, by 15hrs the battery is already at 10%, I would like to have advice before I take it back to the service provider

It's an app that is syncing excessively, like Facebook sync every 5 minutes, or corrupt app, or an Exchange mail account with a lot of emails coming through.

Can you remember what apps you have installed after your phone still worked normally?

Uninstall them first, then check battery usage.

Go into system settings and then battery. It will show which app uses what percentage of your battery. Tell us (had a same issue recently, 3 posts up)

Download gsm battery monitor, it will tell you which apps consume your battery

The system shows 69% usage by the screen, the percentage usage by other apps is just trivial,as for sync I think it should be ruled out because the flight mode kills all connections, I have also installed a connection manager that stops the mobile data connection when the phone is on iddle but I don't see any change

My wife is looking for a Note 2, but there seems to be a shortage as she's been told by a couple of providers that they don't have stock. Is this true?

Why would they lie to you?

If they can write a deal, they can earn commission.

Well it just seems other people don't seem to be having trouble getting hold of one. CellC in Fourways have told her they've been out of stock for 2 months and she's been waiting for Autopage also for about 2 months

Very short supply. The standard Note 2 is actually pretty much written off but you can now get the LTE version for the same price because of this issue. Then again even the LTE supplies are dwindling. I kept fighting for mine for over a month before I eventually got one.

Ok so my brand new (just over a week old now) Note 2 seems faulty.

All of a sudden it won't detect the SIM card anymore. I have tried the same SIM with other phones and it works. Other SIMs with this phone doesn't work.

So I'm without a functional phone for at least until this weekend. :( And then who knows what happens.

Not sure what happened it just stopped working for no reason. I have even tried factory reset.
