Samsung Galaxy Note 2

You can actually see the difference & it's quite big.

All pro reviewers reckon it's almost day and night.

I was told i would see a HUGE difference between the iPad 2 and the iPad 3. That was complete rubbish. Only side by side i was able to see a huge difference. But for everyday use its not a big deal. So going from 720p to 1080p won't be a game changer for me.

does anyone know of apps that when installed also appears on the multi window side bar which would then allow you to use in multitasking. I only know of Photo desk, anyone know of others?

I know its not the answer you want, but you can get custom roms that allow you to put any program on there.

Thanks I know about that app that will allow to you put any app in the bar slider but I believe that after you install the app you note 2 becomes unstable:erm:

Great man... anyone else know of others?:D

Cellc direct on 084145 has the note 2. Just got mine about 4 days ago. I had to wait 1 week for them to get stock. They have stock of the note 2 in white and in titanium gray but trust me they are flying like hot cakes out of the store.

I went to pick up my phone at ram couriers warehouse and saw a basket of phones from cellc direct where the guy took my parcel out and there was at least 6 or 7 note 2 inside there and like 15 galaxy s3 there. Looks like cellc is just giving these contracts to anyone.

That said waiting less than a week is not so bad. My phone was sealed and unbranded and they sent me the 32GB version. Paying R359 a month on cellc on straigh up top up 30 :-)

I may be in the market for this model but the sheer size is a concern. The suposed excellent battery life and in-car GPS functionality with the free Garmin app are the main drawcards. It is pitched against JCB Toughphone and Razr Maxx.

I want to load Track 4 Africa (T4A) onto this device. I need same for my bush breaks in neighbouring countries. But have recently been informed that Samsung devices cannot use GPS without A-GPS. (Apparently this is a device issue, not a T4A issue).

A-GPS needs a data/roaming connection. My bush breaks put me beyond cellular connectivity, generally in neighbouring countries. Can someone please confirm whether the Note 2 needs A-GPS (triangulate between cell towers = cell reception and/or roaming = costs) for the GPS, and related software, to work?

Thanks!

Note 2 has a free Garmin app that does not use your data connection at all but the GPS/Glonass antennae. It really is worth looking into. It also is relatively new with few people being aware of this.

HI Everyone, my 2c worth, first time poster:
Ive read most of these discussions and i just want to point out beteween the LTE and non LTE version, the LTE version sacrifices the RDS FM radio. So if that is NB to you keep with the non LTE.

I have a no Device contract with MTN, R119/m for the topup 200. Took the FNB offer with the credit card discount and ordered the grey note 2 on Friday 5 April. R245/m Monday 8 April got a sms said they are processing my request, Tuesday 9 April (today) got sms they are sending it to couriers and will contact me in 24hours to arrange delivery. So I am to excited.
Also on FNB you can setup FNB connect and add a FNB APN and get 100MB data free, also can auto top up data for free, seems easy to swithc back to MTN APN aswell. Also when using MTN APN you got to make sure and not use MB from your airtime and always buy a bundle, right now i got 1GB for R89 which is not bad, but its current promotion.

Regarding cases, my friends in uk tell me to stick to otterboc, commuter, to drop proof it. I am worried about the flip case as where the flap goes while using it, dont want it flapping around. But oterbox will add more size to this, could anyone source locally or is it order from UK mission?

Disapointed to hear it comes with white earphones, but not biggy. Looking forward to continue using this thread for tips and trick in future. Cheers

Wot he said. I suspect that T4A are talking out their nether regions, they have been promising an Android app for ages now.

Do you guys know about the Samsung promotion which is a free 1Gb of wifi data every month via alwayson http://www.is.co.za/mediacentre/Press%20Releases/Pages/Free-Wi-Fi-for-all-Samsung-users.aspx

The iPhone 5 didn't do it for me. I needed change. Was going for the Xperia Z. Then I was introduced to the Note 2. The creativity & software features got me hooked. Selling the iPad & iPhone 4. Ordered the Galaxy Noye 10.1 as well. Have to change signature.

does anyone know of good easy to use apps that will allow you to sign documents. Like if you have a document to sign and the sent you the form via email and so you can open the app and sign the documents while you on the road?

I've signed documents using Adobe acrobat but those were only PDFs if I remember correctly.
