Not sure what happened flashed the latest peruses kernel while i was on omega v15 which caused my phone not to register on the mtn network. Cant make phone calls or use data.

So i have been through omega v16 and the latest phoenix roms. I have tried different modems but nothing.

Any suggestions? Busy downloading stock rom at the moment but its taking forever!

Had a similar problem this morning. Changed the dpi to 240 and lost ability to make calls or connect to data. Replaced my seccontacts.apk to one that supports 240 and it messed up the baseband. Check in settings, about under baseband if it shows up as unkown. Also status in about would be empty. Luckly made a nandroid backup so restoring fixed my issue.

I decided to flash CarbonRom 1.6, Android 4.2.2. One day with it so far, and loving it! Everything is even smoother and faster!

Thanks Dom1n8tr1x for the tip.

No problem, glad I could help. I had CarbonRom on my phone for about two months and loved every moment of it. However about two weeks ago I decided to go back to stock, I just missed all the Samsung functions and apps that's not available when running CarbonRom.

I will probably go back to CarbonRom again once I get tired of the stock Samsung rom. :D

It's cool to muck around with custom ROMs (especially if you're a student!), but if you are working & very dependant on your phone, you just want it to work properly.

I am very dependant on my phone for work, but I had stock for months now! I feel like I need something even smoother and faster...I think I've found it.

I'm running Omega and its works great. I think samsung stock rom is still pretty good though
