Got my order in with BFore also.
Hi guys,
I've just looked at MTN's October deals, see the PDF here
I'll be going for the AnyTime 200 deal: R200 airtime p/m, 250mb data p/m, 25sms p/m for R429.
There's also Anytime 350 @ R529 and AnyTime 500 at R669.
I'm moving from Vodacom to MTN with this new contract. Vodacom is way too expensive. Can someone assure me that call quality and voice coverage won't be a problem with MTN?
I'm very excited to get the very best smartphone available at the moment![]()
Alternatively I will buy the device outright and go pre-paid on CellC. I don't need many free minutes (maybe 100 tops). Data is what I need and CellC is the way forward for that. I also like that CellC will soon have 3G roaming on the Vodacom network which suits me even better.
Got my Titanium Grey beauty yesterday at lunchtime.Got the email at 11.00am that it had arrived and 20 minutes later said to my boss "ciya' and was out the door. She's ok with it though cause she know's how excited I was to get it and the waiting was killing me.Think she just wanted me to get my 'brains' back finally.I haven't been all here since last Monday when I made the order. It's a foontastic phone!
I have read way too many bad things about MTN.
Personally, I am going CellC (also on Vodacom). My contract expires in Feb, but as soon as CellC offer this device I am paying up the remainder of my Vodacom contract and porting to CellC.
Personally, 8ta and CellC are the only providers worth supporting at the moment.

Thanks for advice.
I see Vodacom has the following deal: http://customers.striata.com/ebooks/vodacomshop/digitalebook/index.html#/16/
R400pm gets you Smart 229, with 115 minutes p/m and 150mb data p/m.
I don't really know how to relate minutes to $$$. Which deal is better? R200 airtime on MTN or 115minutes on Vodacom?
Thanks for advice.

It's a good deal but the problem comes in when you need more data...with Cell C you pay R45 for 300mb add-on, with Vodacom you pay R99 for only 250mb.
This is the only thing keeping me sane enough to not just give in and go back to Vodacom for this phone...will wait for Cell C or FNB...
Vodacom is blatantly advertising wrong. The deal on the Smart 229 clearly says in the leaflet that you get 115 talk minutes per month. When I went to vodacom yesterday they explained that its only 75min any time, 20min vodacom-to-vodacom and another 20min (can't remember what for). Its not 115min any time talk time.
I'll be moving to MTN now. Again vodacom is too expensive

Do you know whether the weekend minutes and extra voda to voda mins kick in only after the std mins are used?Pakka, I'm on the Smart 229 and it's not bad at all.
The included minutes are : 75 minutes from Vodacom to anyone, 20 minutes extra Voda to Voda and 20 minutes for weekends.

That will be perfect for my needs when my contract renews in Dec.Thks for the feedbackIf it's weekend, it will use up your weekend minutes first, same goes for your Voda to Voda minutes.
I checked my account a few days ago and it deducted the weekend and Voda to Voda minutes first.
Your 75 minutes and 150MB data rolls over for one month, while weekend and Voda to Voda is valid for the current month.
