Samsung Galaxy Note 2

Haha.... so you couldn't wait any longer!

And how is the Note 2?

Was a straight trade for my S3 with Andre (cannot remember forum name)

Loving it. Feels better than the S3. Love the screen size.

I trust its grey, Mike ;)

Nope dude. White 32GB. Was not going to argue colour. Was a straight trade so cost me nothing extra.
The Note actually looks very nice in white.

:D Glad to hear...!

Went looking around for one yesterday. No stock. Put on waiting list. Contact with mtn expires tomorrow so I want to port either to vodacom or cellc. Porting takes 3 to 5 days but I have to also give 30 days notice.

Maybe cellc will have the note 2 then? Any clues on that?

Rather get it on Vodacom.

Oh, MTN shop told me there is no more notice period if you want to cancel a contract. You can cancel it on the day it expires.

Pakka, I'm on the Smart 229 and it's not bad at all.

The included minutes are : 75 minutes from Vodacom to anyone, 20 minutes extra Voda to Voda and 20 minutes for weekends.

And 150MB data that rolls over for a month + 150 sms.

I prefer Vodacom, cos MTN's billing system is still driving me up the wall. In December I can finally say goodbye to MTN. Yay!

*MTN 200 sucks, cos you can't convert the R200 to sms or data bundles - it's just for voice....and something like R1.80 a minute.

Would seriously advise you to stick with Vodacom, but it's your choice.

Also left mtn, but a few corrections, R200 can be used for anything at R2 per mb and R2.30 per min (cant buy bundles).
Based on their deals thoguh, the R200 is like a bonus, cos the deals are good, but if you go over (R2 and now R2.85 for mb and minutes).

For Vodacom, yr additional minutes kicks in when u used up yr anytime minutes. So its useless, they must just say 75 minutes.
However, both vc and mtn have much much better deals than cell c, i will give it a few months and then decide where to go.

Unless you use a fair amount of data then you'll be paying through your ass. Topping up with R250mb for R99 is retarded.

Got wifi at home, so just need data bundle for email and WhatsApp.

Very much agree with the R99 for 250MB, makes my blood boil.

Hey peeps

Sent from Galaxy Note 2 :D

Congrats!:D

Cell C seems to only make the announcement that they going to cell the product a month or so after the launch so they probably will have it by then. The thing is if you planning to port your no and cell c comes out say in the next 2 week with the phone wont it take another 30 days to port to cell c?

Why not cell c?

Congrats!:D

I will have to confirm. See above.

I had 2 months left on my VC contract, asked for a premature cancellation quote, got it and made the pay-in directly at Standard Bank, faxed and emailed the docs back same day. On the Monday I phoned them to confirm payment, they put through the cancellation, took 2 hours for my VC to switch to prepaid. I bought a Cell C prepaid sim and Rica'd it the previous week so I followed the porting instructions and by Tuesday morning I was ported.

I don't know how MTN works but I guess getting your number to prepaid asap and then porting to Cell C prepaid would be the best and fastest route. Cell C's got great prepaid specials on at the moment so in total i'm spending less now than I would for the last 2 months of my VC contract..

MTN is quick to port too. A few hours after I converted to prepaid I grabbed my rica'd cell c starter pack, followed the instructions and was ported in an hour.

This thread should be in the Android section.

These blerrie phablet users should be taught a lesson, they want to be windgat and run their thread on the front page.

Not cool, I tell you! :(

Have anyone found any covers yet? Samsung in VodacomWorld only have the flip covers... Don't want that... :-(

How smooth is the phone on Jelly Bean? The Note 1 does not yet have a reliable JB ROM out there, and on ICS it does jag a little here and there (but of course a very small price to pay for how awesome it is otherwise)
