Samsung Galaxy Note 2

No legal expert here but I think VC is going to nail him for the money, don't think they are interested in second hand phones. Did the same 2 years ago and I made the seller sign stating that he is the right full owner and that there is no outstanding dept on this phone. He will sign if he is not planning to default on his contract

Thanks, I think I will make him sign a document that states that he sold the phone to me.

Hi guys,

I have never bought a phone from someone before. I am about to buy a Note II from someone who got it on contract from Vodacom and we are supposed meet on to Tuesday. Therefore I wonder what happens to me if he fails to pay his installments. and what documents should I require from him.

If he fails to pay will they block my phone?

Thanks for your help.

Rather buy it cash from a Samsung Store.

And you will be "renting" the phablet, as it still belongs to Vodacom untill contract is completed.

You're better off getting it on the Smart Standard 229 deal:

R229 for 75 anytime minutes, 150 smses and 150 MB data
R170 for phone
R399 total

So phone works out to R4080 over 24 months.

Most shops in Canal Walk didn't have flip covers and those that did were in white. Finally found a black one at the last Voda shop. Took the second last one.

If I take the FNB deal will i be able to pay off the phone sooner ?? or don't they allow that , must i rather go the cash option ?

You will become legally responsible to pay FNB the full retail value of the device in one payment if any
of the following happens:
• If you pay for the device before the end of the 24 month payment period (early settlement).
• If your FNB Cheque Account is closed for any reason before the 24 month payment period has ended.
• If FNB cannot deduct your monthly payment for any reason.
• If your credit report/record is not in good standing.
• If you do not switch your Debit Orders to this FNB Cheque

What browser to use?

Chrome doesn't have a toolbar icon to get to bookmarks. The Samsung browser does but you can't delete it's preloaded bookmarks. Dolphin sticks when scrolling. Firefox you can't swipe from tab to tab like Chrome.

What do you use and why?

I use Chrome cause it syncs across all my devices with my Google account.

To get to bookmarks I press the soft menu button.
