Samsung Galaxy Note 2

If you go that route make sure you add a R5 data bundle to it, that way OOB data rates are 15c instead of 99c
 
Thanks but worried about (lower?) voice quality after hassle of porting. And then I'd also need to wait 2 months

Hi All,

I have a Note II running Jelly Bean 4.1.1 and would like to upgrade to 4.1.2 but for some reason my WiFi stops working when running 4.1.2. I have tried the following 4.1.2 standard ROMs from Samsung:

- N7100-PHN-N7100XXDMA6-1359014773
- N7100XXDMB4_N7100OJVDMA2_XSG
- N7100XXDLL7_N7100OXADLL4_XEF

and the following custom ROMs:

- AllianceROM_N7100_DMA6_v1
- CriskeloRom-NoteII-V11_MB4_MD5
- N7100_Omega_v12_XXDMB2

After loading these ROMS whenever I try to connect to a Wifi network the phone just says "Obtaining IP Address" until eventually it disconnects and gives a message about bad network signal. I have tried pointing the device to a static IP which results in the phone connecting/disconnecting every 5~10 seconds. The moment I revert back to 4.1.1 everything works perfectly. Anyone else having the same experience?

I am running 4.1.2 as in the pic. Working well.

There is another problem with the BodyGlove Flip cover. The magnets in the cover interferes with the S-Pen, so you must remove the phone from the cover for it to work properly.
 
Why not just buy the OE Samsung ones, you can buy them off the shelf and they seem better than these as they cover the switches too. Got mine for R250 at Cellucity
 
Finally got my Note 2. I heard directly through Vodacom that they are dropping the LTE version contract price because of the issues with supply for the standard Note 2. So I got the LTE for the same (Although stocks on this phone also dwindling)

Awesome phone, really loving it and putting it to good use. A little bit of a learning curve in the beginning but well worth it.

I only have one glitch on the phone, perhaps I am being stupid. That small blue multi-window task switcher side button thing keeps disappearing and I keep having to go into settings, display and disable/enable multi-window. Am I just missing a shortcut somewhere?

hey guys, how much better is the note 2 compared to the s3? does it justify me spending R100 extra p/m to take the note 2?

I love my note 2 but are you super pressed to get a phone now or can you wait? When is the S4 releasing again?
