So what is the general consensus of this device from a users point of view?

I am seriously leaning towards one to replace my Xpreia Z1 compact, as I like the idea of the SPen and larger display compared to a full tablet. In fact the only tablet out with a SPen has a putrid processor so not even a consideration. Being out of office more than in currently this looks like a best of both worlds scenario device.

Would like to hear your guys views.

In short.... the note 5 is the longest that any device has survived without rooting. Almost 6 months now.

I am very happy with mine. Had all the note 2 to note 5. It is just perfect in my opinion. Great mix of awesome screen, resolution, size mixed with great functionality and features.

You won't regret it, but then again everyone feels different about their device. Only you can tell if the device is for you or not.

I'm still rather surprised that a lot less people are enthusiastic about the phone.

I personally think it's great but I guess a lot of the power users that do rely on the Note range will want that card slot and the removable battery.

It's a great device... Longest I have stuck with a device in probably 4 years. For me battery is an issue tho - but I am probably the heaviest user you will ever find. I am not sure any phone would be better

I'm keen to try it someday... Let me know when yours is for sale ;)

The only Androids I still want to try out are the S7 Edge, Note 5 and G4. I'll pass on the rest

Agreed. I absolutely love my Note 5. I don't think I'll go back to an iPhone any time soon :)

And yay, Marshmallow is now out on Vodacom.

It's a downgrade from the Note4 that's why. So many features removed. The Note6 will probably be a lot better.

hi ,
Still , using my Note range Note 2 , 3 ,4 and now Note5 .
I would say the Note5 is just as good upgrade,
as all the others , in the Note range.!!
For me, that have used the Note 4 (and still using it )
the Note5 is on par with the N4 , if not better !!.
But yes , i agree with w1tw0lf post #495, that taste differs !!
good luck

Flashed XFE Rom .... BPD6
I noticed it has Samsung latest
security patch May 2016
On the other hand my Samsung
bugs are still present.
Switch Bluetooth and alarm clock icon appears for about
2 minutes and then dissappears!
Will see if any other improvements.
See build date is April 2016, where previous XFE was Feb.. March?

Flashed the new version yesterday. Seems smoother and battery life bit better. Will see how it goes.

Any one here uses the new Good Lock system ui from Samsung ?

Exactly.

I stuck with my Note 4 and know a few people who stuck with them and Note 3s when the Note5 arrived. Even Samsung seemed unsure, with their limited release of the Note5, it didn't make it to many parts of Western Europe, instead the S6 Edge+ was made available.

The Note 6 is said to bring back MicroSD, plus a much larger battery, a lot more built-in storage and slightly larger display, if true I'm gladly waiting for it and skipping the 5. :)

Yeah I'm using Good Lock. Prefer the stock android notification icons to the Samsung ones. Doesn't eat battery and has some handy features in the quick toggles drop down. Win win.
