Samsung Galaxy Note Edge gets SA pricing

No thanks. Even if I was willing to spend that much on a phone, I would be too scared that I would drop the phone on that side...

I paid/am paying more than enough for my Galaxy Note 2014 10.1. I'd rather get the "iPhone killer" Xiaomi, if it were possible to get it.

I don't know when it became acceptable for phones to breach the 10k mark. That is totally ridiculous. They may have a crap load of features, but are really not worth over 10k.

The acceptable price for a smartphone should really be around 5k max (for a flagship).

It's also sad that the value of them drop drastically when the next major flagship is released. And that will be in less than a year i.e. Galaxy S6 and Note 5.

I used to be hyped and try to get them on launch when my contract was due for an upgrade, but I learnt to be patient and wait a few months for the price to drop.

The exchange rate isn't doing us any favours either.

Best thing to do is wait for the next flagship to launch then go for the previous year one. They don't update them in leaps & bounds either. As for pricing, I refuse to spend more than R400pm on a contract phone, it's just too much for me.

My limit is R500. For that you can get most flagship phones, including the iPhone.
