Samsung Galaxy Round with curved display

Samsung Electronics Co Ltd on Wednesday launched a variant of the popular Galaxy Note smartphone with a curved display, moving a step closer to introducing wearable devices with flexible screens.

My old Samsung Galaxy Nexus had a curved display. It curved slightly vertically.

Galaxy Round is the dumbest name I've ever come across. Galaxy Curve would have been just fine.

I fail to see how and why anyone would want a curved display ? it has no appeal to me - I would prefer interacting with a device that is flat. It looks retarded.

I had the Nexus S with a vertical curved display and it DID carry much easier/nicer in my pant pocket. My Flat S4 is like this pointy brick thing.

They should have put the camera on the side, if you lay that phone down the camera will always be in touch with the surface, putting it on the side would avoid that.

I can't help but think that this is a gimmick. It's not so much innovation as evolution; now we must just wait to see if it's fit to survive.
