WHAT!!!??? That's basically R10,000, I thought the GS5 was meant to be around 10% cheaper at launch than the GS4 was at launch.

I got my GS4 32GB on launch day, April 27 2013 for R8450 at Digital Experience in Fourways Crossing, they have their own Samsung stand with sales personal etc... Try there, there's also CaCell who usually have phones for much less but they may only have the 16GB GS5.

It's amazing how difficult it an be to get a Samsung Galaxy S for cash at a decent price at this time, I went through EXACTLY the same thing last year before settling for The Digital Experience's price, I phoned until my ear was sore, the networks generally reserve most units for contract customers so ensure you get wherever you are going to get it early if you are buying from a network.
 
I have one booked at a Samsung Experience store where they will be launching it at 11:11am. They are keeping mine aside a black 32gb for R9800 as would only be able to make it there by 17:00.

Cacell R10499 so it looks like already have the best possible price for launch day.

Problem is my S3 got stolen 2 weeks ago and I have been without a phone since

Awesome, yep you certainly have the best deal then, Im shocked they are selling it for so much to be honest, the hype must be incredible, CaCell sold the S4 for around R7800 on launch.

Anyway, congrats on your S5 :D enjoy it, the reviews have been praising it. It's officially Galaxy S5 Day, nothing better than getting a new phone on its launch day, I'm hoping to do that when the Note 4 arrives. :)

Have you seen what the exchange rate has done since the s4 launch?

Makes the FNB 400 per month deal sound pretty good.

To be honest, it's just another phone. But take it from where it comes. I had the S4, then the Note 3, now the S5. They all close to being the same thing, each obviously with its unique features.

I had a quick test of the camera last night, comparing it to the Note 3. Took 'n picture in low light, and zoomed in afterwards. The S5 was significantly better, with less of that grey "shadow" or whatever they call it. I'll post some good comparison pics over the weekend.
 
Just had the gate buzzer ring. Answered and was greeted with "delivery for ...". My heart raced. So quick (S5 order only confirmed yesterday with MTN).




Opened the gate and excitedly went out to greet the delivery chap standing there with a package for me....



So cruel! Sadly, it was not from MTN but MWEB! Thanks for my range extender MWEB. Apologies for being a little ungrateful though, but I was really hoping it was something else this time :)
 
I have a black one booked at Autopage, will be picking up at around 16:00 today. Upgrade to my S3.
