Samsung Galaxy S5

Samsung invented android ?

Are you drunk as your name implies? I didn't claim that Samsung invented Android. I implied that Apple (and those that support them) like to make bold claims about everyone copying them even though they've recently unashamedly copied a way of displaying notifications that Android has been using for ages.

Joh never ends hey, the phone everyone either loves or loves to hate :D

What has that got to do with apple copying Samsung ? Samsung have clearly copied Apple. You implied Apple had copied Samsung. Samsung would have to actually come up with something original first.

It's weird for me to love a brand for copying instead of supporting the actual inovaters. To me that's to cheer on for the Asian hive mind way of life. Conformity trumps imagination.

I don't approve of the current patent and copyright laws so between that and international release I approve of Samsung.

How exactly did I imply that Apple copied Samsung? If you took the fact that this was posted in a Samsung related thread or the picture itself showing both brands as your reasoning then I'm afraid you're working on assumptions rather than what's in front of you. Go back and read my response to the picture the other guy posted and see that there is no mention of Samsung specifically from my side. An Apple fanboy accused Samsung of copying Apple and I retorted that he/Apple should be careful when accusing others (once again not specifically Samsung, but Android in this scenario) of copying...simple as that.

Honestly I cannot fathom why fanboys from either side of this debate feel the need to jump into threads specifically about a single device and spout nonsense to support another one.

For the record: I use both Apple and Samsung products for various tech needs.

Oh please what a bunch of bull. Samsung is the single largest holder of mobile cellphone technology patents in the world {over 12 times apple's portfolio in 2011}

This one of many patent infringement complaints Apple has made over the last few years and you would think, what with Apple being one of the world’s most expensive companies and developing products that tens of millions are prepared to pay what can only be described as over-the-odds, that the Cupertino-based outfit would be pretty high on the list revealing which company has the most registered patents, right?

Wrong, Apple is in fact 31st on the list with around a thousand registered patents, while friend/foe Samsung tops the chart, with close to 12000 in total. Apple’s seem to just be more high profile due to it being one of the most talked-about companies on the planet. LG and RIM are fairly high up, in at 13th and 15th respectively, while HTC is way down in 38th in the count-up of protected innovation. Check out the chart below and see which company stands where, you might want to click it to get a better view of it:

Samsung owns roughly 12.5% of the seminal LTE patent portfolio {the biggest after Qualcomm} which Samsung has tried to sue Apple with but most of the cases have been dismissed on FRAND grounds {through no one disputes Apple is using Samsung technology seeing as they have LTE}.

The Chosun Ilbo reported on Tuesday that, according to the Korean Intellectual Property Office, Apple has gone from having no LTE patents filed with the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) last year to 318 it owns outright and 116 through Rockstar Bidco, an intellectual property-related consortium that it holds a majority stake in.

Samsung, on the other hand, is the number one patent holder for the LTE standard, with 819 patents, or 12.7 percent.

Apple has also been found guilty by the ITC of infringing Samsung's patent number 7,706,348 but they arn't able to sue using it because it's SEP patent.

Also the only place where Samsung has really been found to infringe Apple patents {that wasn't overturned later} is the US and S. Korea {Apple's + Samsung's home country} and the only place where Apple has been found to infringe Samsung patents is South Korea and if the ITC ruling is included the US {Samsung's + Apple's home country}. Kindly stop spreading FUD.

Spend one month in South Korea then come back and tell me how these are an honest and creative people. I'll be chasing rainbows in hoping for a pot of gold. I have a far better chance.

Oh FFS, now we're onto which company is more honest!? You really must be drunk because you've gone off on a massive tangent.

Samsung is a big corporate entity bent on MAKING MONEY...wait for it...just like Apple! They are certainly no more dishonest (Apple patent trolling/frivolous litigation) or uncreative (see above point on copying) than their Apple brethren.

By the way your posts are starting to smell a bit racist with your generalisations about South Koreans and Asians.

Oh please that's just your opinion, the same charges used to be leveraged against the Japanese electronics manufacturers {who are mostly bankrupt these days} I have been to Japan havn't been to Korea I found the Japanese to be a very innovative people.

And either way your opinion is irrelevant the facts are Samsung has the most mobile patents in the world, are many of them bogus nonsense like Apple's slide to unlock?? Sure, but so what?? The fact is both companies have bogus patents and both have brought great innovation to the smartphone market to deny one is just to be a biased fan boy. Samsung has one of {if not the highest} R&D expenditures in the world {$10.4 billion last year} it's childish to think that with a R&D budget greater than some African nations GDP's they arn't innovating at all and just sit around waiting to strip down their competitors products.

Either we support the idea thay innovation ought to be rewarded. Or we belittle the role of innovation and cheer on imitation. That doesn't bode well for the promotion of the ideal of free thinking. Let's not promote a society thay rewards the ideal of conformity over free thinking.

Well then you better pick a better corporate role model for that sort of ideal than the likes of Apple. I've already shown that Apple is not beyond copying other well entrenched ideas and are patent trolls of the highest order, directly and intentionally in a way that stifles innovation in the same sector they operate in.

Clearly you're so wrapped up in the perceived messianic quality and innovation status of Apple products that you cannot see the wood for the trees.

First pic definitely looks a bit more grainy, but then again maybe the Samsung camera is applying additional smoothing?

What is the So camera app? And why is there a microphone on the table? Do you sing to yourself? :D

Sorry. Spelling mistake. Was on mobile.

First one Google Camera app. Second one Samsung S5 Camera app. Both used on the S5 obviously.

Those are xbox360 mic's. My kids loves to sing apparently.

Thank you for clearing it up.

If your kids love to sing, why not sing with them? ;)
